Day 2

Day - 2.
Date: 16th August 2014
Route: Chittorgarh to Pathankot
Distance covered: 1071 kms.

Started early at 5.00 am again. Today we were targeting Pathankot, which was 1100 odd Kms. It seemed a daunting task at the outset, but the drive yesterday had made us believe that we would be able to make it. And we were not disappointed. Another day of good roads and beauty awaited us. We stopped at some places on the way for snaps. We were even stopped at a level crossing for 10 min and yet we did not mind it. It was another place for some break and photos.
We travelled through the whole state of Rajasthan and Punjab.
Chittorgarh -Bhilwara - Kishangarh - Makrana - Sujangarh - Ratangarh - Rawatsar - Abohar - Kotkapura - Moga - Jalandhar -  Mukerian. - Pathankot.
The long stretches of clean, smooth road with minimal traffic and patches of sand in Rajasthan. The drive was mesmerising.
We had some amazing Parathas at a dhaba in Bhilwara. Lunch was at Hotel Kamal just beyond Hanumangarh and it was amazing food.
Stopped for refreshments at Moga - the milk capital of India and had some teay milk.
The day ended late. We reached Pathankot at 10.30 pm. We were tired but excited for the next day, the day we believed we will actually start climbing up to Kashmir.

We stayed for the night at Venice Republic Resort. Nice place with comfortable bed and decent food.
