Day - 4.
Date: 18th August 2014
Route: Srinagar
We were in leisure today. I woke up and went out to take pictures of the Dal lake in the morning. Got some good snaps of the Shikaras and people selling flowers.
We met 2 biking groups which had come on bikes from Bengaluru. Amazing isn’t it?
We then went to get our car cleaned and checked for the journey ahead.
By the time we were back, Nadim had joined us. We then went for lunch at Hotel Sunshine - another good place for non-veg food. Though my vegetarian friends were disappointed.
We shifted to a house boat for the day and then took a Shikara ride on the Dal lake. It was quite an enjoyable experience. The Dal lake is huge and quite beautiful at the northern parts away from the city. My disappointment of yesterday vanished.
In the evening, we went shopping for dry fruits and then had our dinner at Mughal Darbar. Another place for non-veg lovers, not to be missed in Srinagar. Especially the Kashmiri Wazhwan served in their Jodha Akbar suite in the traditional way. It was a wonderful experience.
We did not see the Mughal Gardens and other places as we did not have time. I think it will take 4 - 5 days to see Kashmir. Well there is always a next time!
