Since we had travelled beyond our intended stay yesterday, we were at leisure for today. Got up late and I went to click some snaps around the place. Again, Mr. Tashi had a delightful place. We met his wife and he was kind enough to invite us into his house and offer us some Ladakhi tea which is salted. There was a small garden with sunflowers and other flowers I could not name. We left from Lamayuru and made our way leisurely to Leh. On the way, we stopped at Nimmu for refreshments. We visited the Gurudwara Pather Sahib. We stopped at the magnetic hill to experience the phenomenon there. We clicked a lot of photos on the way. There were long stretches of great straight roads, perfect for some fun photography. The road today was lovely. Good that we had a lot of time at our disposal. The drive from Lamayuru to Leh is very scenic. Lot of small villages. The Indus river makes a wonderful valley. It is a wondrous sight, the barren mountains with all the variety of colours and the lush green of the Indus valley. Amazing. We reached Leh and visited the Hall of fame there. This place again is a must visit. Great place to learn about Ladakh region. We even undertook some adventure activities which were arranged there. It was fun.We reached Ling's guest house where we were to stay while in Leh. Mr. Dorje , the owner is a smart man and very helpful. He is an amazing cook. He made Maggi and Thukpa for us which was out of the world. In the evening, we visited the Leh palace and then did some window shopping in the market. Dinner was at the guest house. We met Uday who had come with his colleague and both of them were riding motorbikes all the way from Bengaluru. He helped us by providing us with metal cans to carry extra Diesel (the plastic one which we had bought in Srinagar, had started leaking from the lid and spilled a lot of Diesel in the car). Thanks Uday!
